Our commitment

Eleanor Grace Dance is committed to the welfare of every child in our care. We work on the basis that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, that a child’s welfare comes before anything else, and that any concern will be taken seriously and acted on.

Our team

• Every teacher holds an enhanced DBS check.
• Every teacher is first aid trained.
• Every teacher completes safeguarding training.
• Teachers are never knowingly left alone one to one with a child out of sight of others. Private lessons take place in view of another adult or with a door open.

If you have a concern about a child at Eleanor Grace Dance, speak to Miss Eleanor. If a child is in immediate danger, call 999.

Raising a concern

1. Tell the Designated Safeguarding Lead as soon as you can, in person, by phone or by email.
2. Write down what you saw or were told, in the words used, with the date and time.
3. We will record the concern and decide on the next step, which may include a referral to children’s social care or the police.
4. We will not promise a child that we will keep a disclosure secret. We will explain who needs to be told and why.

Photography and filming

We ask for photography consent when your child registers, and you can change your answer at any time by emailing us. Parents are welcome to photograph their own child at our shows, but we ask that images including other people’s children are not posted publicly.

Our written policies

Our safeguarding and child protection policy, code of conduct, anti-bullying policy and health and safety policy are available on request. Email eleanorgracedance@outlook.com and we will send them over.
